busy weekend

This weekend is going to be full of events. Saturday I'm off and get to run errands, and possibly go to a farm down south to pick fruits and veggies. Sunday david and I are doing an official engagement photoshoot with out lovely friend Janette from Terribly Girly Photography. I'm super stoked about the photo shoot. I'm probably going to be really nervous seeing as I've never done a professional photoshoot before, aside from yearbook pictures. After the photo session, I get to go to a second bridal shower/mad hatter tea party, all dolled up with hair and makeup. The dress I'm wearing to the tea party and possibly to the photoshoot, is special. It's a dress David's mom made for her senior prom in the seventies. We found it in storage while looking for her wedding dress, and right away I saw it and said, "if this fits me, I want to wear it for something wedding related." Davids mom was excited I had taken an interest in her handmade prom dress.
So we washed it up, got rid of the stains, and I tried it on again. We came to the conclusion that it would probably look better a lot shorter. It was a long dress to start. we took it to get altered, and this is what happened.

I will post pictures of the completed dress after sunday's bridal shower.

I'm thinking I may have like the length better below the knees rather than above the knees. UGGHHH!!! It all happened so fast! Hopefully it will look fine above the knee.

Invitations

So we finally got the invitations all done and sent out. We are already receiving RSVPs. Here is a taste of the final stages of sending them out. Although they took forever to be made, I'm still grateful that he made them. Better late than never.

a little behind.

Invitations FINALLY went out!!!!! We are a little behind but its done, late but done. I have a few things to post but I've been busy.
I'm really excited and I'm not stressed out!
I know that this whole blog thing is super cheesy but this was the only way I could keep a journal of all the events leading up to the wedding. I will enjoy going back and checking this thing out later and seeing all the headaches and projects we had. A lot has gone into this event and I wanted to keep track of its progress.
The pictures here are of davids parents backyard with the gate torn down and a pathway into the neighbors yard. Yes we are using the neighbors yard as well. And then the other photo is of the pretty Chinese new year kumquat stamps we got for the invites. They're so pretty. Ok more later.

Bridal Shower

David's aunts and cousin threw me a bridal shower yesterday and it was really nice. It's pretty amazing to know how many people care about me and came to "shower" me with love, good wishes and gifts. Having wonderful, supportive family and friends is a pretty awesome thing.

I'm so grateful for the people in my life. I know this sounds pretty dumb, but seriously. It was really sweet. I don't take the opportunity enough to show appreciation and realize how cool my friends and family are.

With all that being said, I got some pretty cool gifts, things I never expected and everything was wonderful. I felt so special. I'm not used to being the center of attention, I'm usually just in the background, but being a bride is kinda fun. It's nice to feel a little bit like a princess for a change. HAHA!

I'm sure there will be tons of photos. I will try to post some here when I get them. It was like paparazzi over there! I will have many photo memories to look back on and laugh about later on in life.

Ahhh. The wedding is less than a month away. We have already received a few gifts. These are the best. I have a bridal shower on Sunday. How exciting. I'm starting to get excited about everything. It's right around the corner.

time is flying

Yea as I'm sure everyone has noticed, no one has received an invitation yet still. We are almost done with everything and I'm pretty stressed about how long it has taken. I'm not very happy about it. But I guess that's what happens when you do them yourself. So I apologize for them still not being in your hands.
I have been working so much that I haven't even had time to think about the wedding. I haven't a zilla day in weeks. But its like a month away now and I think we have everything pretty much under control. This Sunday is my bridal shower, so I'm excited about that. It will sort of bring the wedding back into focus, and I will have my family for support. There is still a lot to do but mostly closer to the date. Now I need to start exfoliating my skin and whitening my teeth. Hahahaha I'm still not a bridezilla, but I may start getting crazy. I'm trying to stay as calm as possible with everything and I think I'm doing a pretty good job at it. This week I have a few projects I need to get done so hopefully I will complete them.
