day 2 Orlando

Monday night we arrived in Orlando, quickly checked in to our hotel, which btw I did a really good job picking this time. usually we stay in crappy cheap hotels that are crappy inside. But thus time I got a cheap hotel but its nice inside. It's a suite, has a separate room with a couch, sink, fridge and microwave. It's so cute. Plus it has 2 TVs. We payed nothing for it but got a cute place. We are very low maintenance, hence staying at our friends house in Tampa on our honeymoon rather than pay for a hotel. We love Free stuff. Or atleast I do and I don't mind admitting it. I am a bargain hunter and I think its a good trait to have.
Anyways, we went to Firestone Live to see the second round of the Helmet tour. I took a few photos of Crowbar. I got lazy.

Honeymooning and Metal

David and I started our official unofficial honeymoon. Well it's what we call our "quickie" honeymoon. Our major honeymoon will be taken in June/July to Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Yes, you heard that right, South Dakota. Most people ask, "what's in South Dakota?!?!" To that I reply, "absolutely nothing" :)

Well actually there is a lot to see and do in South Dakota.
This alone shoud entice someone to want to go out there, it's so amazingly beautiful!!

So anyways, since Saturday night, we have been in Tampa. We drove up Sat afternoon and are staying with our friend and fellow recording studio owner, Chaz. We woke up SUPER late yesterday and went to Busch Gardens. We got all the rides in except for 2: Montu and yes Sheikra. I am preparing myself for that ride today. Now I'm hanging out with Rudy, Chaz's tailless cat. She's pretty awesome. So I'm waiting for David to wake up so we can start our mission. Donuts at Nicola's, photo of the giant Bob Marley Mural, photo with the giant basket and photo with the giant cigar. Yea, apparently Tampa has a bunch of giant things.

Last night after Busch Gardens, we went to see Helmet with Howl, Kylesa, Saint Vitas and Crowbar. I think I am missing a few bands, but I can't remember them. We missed Howl but we saw the others I listed. There are a bunch on this tour. It was nice because the show actually started at like 6, since there were so many bands. And it ended pretty early for Miami standards- midnight. Even though it was pretty early, I was soooo tired from Busch Gardens. After the show we went to Mema's Alaskan Tacos...delicious.

So now I'm waiting for David to wake up, I'm uploading all the photos from my phone and posting this.
I will keep it updated, hopefully.
Gotta go wake the hubby up.

WOW!!!
Where do I even begin? I am so grateful for all my family and friends. They are awesome in their special ways. David and I have been together for 12.5 years and yesterday we finally took our relationship to a new level. I had an amazing time at my own wedding. I remember so much of it and usually people say "you don't remember it, it happens so fast." Mind you it seemed like the time just flew by and we didn't have enough time to spend with everyone and I wish we had. There were so many photos we needed to take, and then just all the congratulations was overwhelming, but in a REALLY good way! But if we forgot anyone, we didn't do it intentionally. We tried so hard and wanted to say hi to everyone but it was so hard.
I was amazed at how many guest book sheets we got back, and David and I read them all and they were so awesome and fun to read. Most people said "never go to bed angry" "have lots of babies" or "have a lot of sex". I can't wai to put them in a book and read them in a couple years. All great advise. Another thing I heard a lot which was sort of awesome was that our relationship just makes so much sense. That was awesome to hear.

David and I have been best friends for 12 years. We weren't just bf/gf, or now just husband and wife (how weird is that!) but we are best friends! We grew up together over the past 12 years. We've learned from each other and our experiences together.
It's so crazy that all the planning over the past 8 months is already over. So quickly it all ends. I wish we could get married every year, it was so fun!
I just don't even know how to say thanks to everyone that would actually amount to how grateful and happy I am/we are. I feel like nothing I could say would do justice or amount to how awesome I felt yesterday.

Yesterday was seriously, up to now, the best day of my life. It seemed like everyone had an awesome time and that the friends and families mingling together was nothing but positive and enjoyable. I heard all good things about the food and cake, the atmosphere the guests...it goes on. I am just in shock and amazement at how incredible everything was. It was more than I could have EVER imagined and more than I had ever dreamed of having. I've imagined and dreamt about my wedding with David for a few years now, and my imagination never amounted to what it was in reality yesterday.

I feel so fucking lucky!!!

David and I woke up today on a cloud. We are so thankful for everything and everyone. It has been an emotional day for both of us. We realized just how lucky we really are and how much love we have all around us. It's an incredible fucking feeling. We are seriously just so happy and overcome with joy and thanks.

counting down the days

Wow, it seemed like it would take an eternity to get to this week and now it's here and I secretly wish it wasn't. I've been pretty good as far as keeping my shit together (excuse my language) and keeping my head screwed on tight. But now we are 5 DAYS away and I think I'm going to start turning into bridezilla. Actually no not really bridezilla, I'm not that bad, but I am very sensitive and I can get emotional pretty easily. This is why I keep a straight face most of the time and never let me guard down, because I know once you get past my shell, I am the biggest softie it's pathetic.

So, now we are 5 days away and I have to be honest, I am starting to freak out a little. I have been working pretty much non-stopped for the past few months and this week I am working until Weds. I am super worried that I'm not going to have time to get all the things I need to get done, in the short amount of time I have off before Saturday. Hopefully I use my time very diligently after work and I just hope I don't need to stay up super late every day because I need to keep my energy for Friday night's party and then Saturday!

It's been an amazing little ride since the end of June last year. It's been interesting seeing all the wedding stuff I've seen and it's just crazy how much time and energy goes into a wedding. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends that, over the past few weeks especially, have made me feel like a princess. I have gotten so much love over the past month that it's just awesome.
I'm also super lucky for David's parents for doing everything they have done for this, and for me. David's mom has been instrumental in arranging everything and putting all my ideas into form. She has pretty much done everything for me. I am so grateful.

Ok, I need to get some work done now. Enough of this mushy crap!

Mad Hatter Tea

Last Sunday my moms friend from 3rd grade hosted me a bridal tea party in the theme of Alice in wonderland/Mad Hatter. Wow. It was adorable, every little detail was amazing. From the place settings to the "Eat me" food picks to the pink flamingos and hedgehogs, no detail was spared. And then all the guests in their hats, it was absolutely adorable.
In my last post, I had put pictures of the dress I would be wearing. Well the significance of the dress...
David's mom had made a dress for her senior prom. She sewed every stitch and wore it in 1979 to her prom. When we first started planning the wedding she found the box in storage with her wedding dress and that prom dress. The wedding dress was waaay too small. But the prom dress fit nicely, so I knew I wanted to wear it for something. We decided to get it cut which I posted in my last post. And then the aftermath photos were from the tea party, because that's where I wore it.
So here are a few photos from the tea. I don't have that many on my phone.
I was also lucky enough to have spent the earlier part of that day with Janette Valentine and her awesome crew at Terribly Girly Photography. David and I did a photo shoot for engagement photos and I had the opportunity to get all dolled up by her gals. They did my hair, makeup and wardrobe. The pictures came out so cute. You will be able to see one at the wedding. So I posted a couple photos from after the shoot I took of myself before my makeup got ruined. I felt like a movie star from the 40's. It was so fun.
And after everything, my hat looked so cute :)
Next event: bachelorette party tonight!
